"Nokia Mode"
Remember when we (only) used phones to make calls and send typo-filled SMS’. I kinda miss that, so much so that I created a mode on my phone titled “Nokia mode” that mutes everything except - you guessed it - phone calls and SMS’. I even made the screen black and white to make sure the device would be annoying to use. Couple that with some app disabling (namely YouTube and all of Google’s AI nonsense) and you get a device that you literally cannot use for anything other than contacting people.
Of course, I’ll still use my phone for banking, maps, ride apps, and account authentication, but these tasks don’t require me to be on my device more than I need to. Even WhatsApp is on mute; I have my tab and computer which are far better for texting anyway. It really feels good to maintain digital hygiene like this, especially when using an actual Nokia isn’t a practical option when leaving the house.
Man I miss the 2000s🙃!
